News24xx.com - George Weah strengthened Liberia's national team again at the age of 51. The man who now serves as President of Liberia competes against Nigeria in the test match. Weah has retired playing football since 2003, when he strengthened Al Jazira in the United Arab Emirates League.

When active, the player who was considered as the best African talent had strengthened AS Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Chelsea, Manchester City and Marseille. The best point of his career was when he won the World Player of the Year award, both FIFA and Ballon d'Or, in 1995. He was still the only African player to win the award.

After retiring as a footballer, Weah went into politics. After becoming a member of the board in 2015, the man who won the two Scudettos with Milan was elected as Liberia's president in the 2017 general election and was sworn in last January 2018.

Interestingly, Weah decided to return to play football on the Liberia match against Nigeria, in the trial match in Monrovia on September 11th. In this match, the 51-year-old man played as a starter and participated for 79 minutes.

The game itself was designed by Liberia as a moment to retire the number 14, which Weah wore while active. Weah got a standing ovation when he back on the pitch, when the match ended with a score of 1-2 for Nigeria's victory. Nigeria itself lowers the composition of relatively strong players. They played Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City), Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City), Peter Etebo (Stoke City).
