Commemorating national electric day, Ignasius Jonan asked community to change to electric stove

News24xx.com - In the opening of National Electricity Day, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius asked PT PLN (Persero) and all staff to be able to increase the use of electric stoves. This is done to reduce the consumption of LPG gas which is getting increasingly difficult to obtain.

Jonan said that the conversion of LPG stoves to electric stoves needed to be encouraged. To introduce the electric stove to the community, he advised PLN to promote the use of electric stoves to the community.

Currently to meet domestic needs, the majority of raw materials are imported LPG. Jonan said that the use of electric stoves could reduce LPG consumption which resulted in a reduction in imports of raw materials.

"The electric stove can be reached by the public because of its price. We encourage the conversion of LPG stoves to reduce the import of national LPG. The cheap induction cooker is priced at IDR 300,000 to IDR 400 thousand is affordable, can you install it" he said.

By using electric stoves, it also helps the government reduce the burden of subsidies. This year LPG subsidies reached IDR 67 trillion. And Jonan stated that the conversion of LPG stoves to electric stoves is much simpler than encouraging the use of electric vehicles.

"This year's 3 kg LPG subsidy reaches IDR 67 trillion, far greater than electricity. This is what PLN has to try to convert LPG stoves to electric stoves. If the cars from conventional to electric are rather long, you must tell Minister of Industry" said Jonan .

However, this Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources still does not take into account how and how much the household is for the use of electrical energy due to the suggestions mentioned, namely the conversion of LPG stoves to electric stoves.
