Dead Love with Barcelona, Messi Rejects City's Deals Despite Being Paid Three Times

News24xx.com -  Manchester City boss Khaldoon Al Mubarak opened up about his failure to seduce Lionel Messi from Barcelona. Various offers have been submitted, even the lure of salary is three times that of Messi from Barcelona.

In a press conference in the United Arab Emirates, Mubarak admitted Messi was the only target player who had not been able to bring the club from Manchester city.
"We asked Guardiola to speak with him, we offered him three times the salary he got from Barcelona. But he still did not want to," said Mubarak as quoted by CNN from calciomercato, Sunday, October 14 2018.

Previously, Messi and Man City were rumored to have held talks in 2016, along with Pep Guardiola's inaugural season handling the English club. But Messi was not tempted by an offer from the City boss and remained dressed in the Blaugrana until now.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu also confirmed Messi did not plan to leave for another club.

"He does not want to go. We always say he can be a one-club man. That is also his plan," Bartomeu said.

The presence of Messi in Barcelona further increased the chances of the 2008 Olympic gold medalist to become a player who would be loyal to the Catalonian club throughout his career. Messi has been in Barcelona since he was 13 years old.
