News24xx.com - When talking about Swiss agriculture, the picture that emerges is dairy cows - not cannabis plants. But later the Swiss government wants to do more research on marijuana as a drug and make marijuana-based treatment more likely.

On a farm in the lush green countryside, one hour from the country's capital, Berne, Markus Ldi proudly showing off his canabis garden. It's almost harvest season, and this year, after a long summer, maybe the harvest will be good. The plants are very valuable - as indicated by high fences and electronic gates that protect them.

Mark is actually a chemist, not a farmer, and the plant consists of thousands of stems of cannabis, which he uses to produce cannabis-based drugs. Switzerland has been interested in legalizing marijuana 25 years ago, but without ever actually doing it.

Ownership of drugs for recreational use has been decriminalized, but the cultivation or sale of large quantities of marijuana containing more than 1% tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, a key psychoactive element in plants, is a criminal act.
