Hudaidah Port is a vital route for sending aid to Yemen which has been hit by war in recent years, causing 14 million people to starve. The port has been closed by a Saudi-led coalition for one year. The Saudis accused Iran of sending weapons to the Houthis through this port. The Saudi coalition itself began to intervene to help the Yemeni government fight the Houthis since 2015.
