Liverpool star Sadio Mane : Has a luxury car but is still a mosque toilet cleaner

News24xx.com -  After scoring the first goal in Liverpool's 2-1 win at Leicester City in early September, Sadio Mane prostrated on the grass - something that many Muslims do to express gratitude.

And it turns out, just a few hours later, the simple 26-year-old Senegalese young man, casually cleaning the toilet in a mosque in Liverpool.

The picture showing him cleaning the mosque's toilet was then widely distributed on social media, and became a striking contrast to the stereotypical picture of Premier League footballers who 'live in luxury'.

Sadio Mane is a happy person who is far from the center of attention, said Abu Usamah Al-Tahabi, the imam at the Al Rahmah Mosque in Liverpool.

"Sadio actually asked not to distribute the video. He wanted to keep doing everything quietly and he did not do it for publicity," said Abu Usamah Al-Tahabi.

"He often came to this mosque. At his house he owned (a luxury car) Bentley - but he came here in an ordinary car, so he didn't want to be recognized.

"He is not someone who is looking for excitement. He is not at all arrogant."
Humility is evident in various stories about Mane.

Before the Champions League final in May, he distributed Liverpool shirts to residents in his hometown, Bambali, in Senegal.

"The village has a population of 2,000 people. I bought 300 Liverpool shirts to send to the people there, so fans can wear them while watching the final match," Mane said.

In Bambali, in 2005, Mane watched live broadcasts of illustrious Liverpool, when he rose from a 0-3 loss to AC Milan to win the Champions League final. At that time he was only 13 years old.

And his hometown was never far from his heart.
