News24xx.com -  Tragic, a 12 year-old boy shot and killed his six year-old sister after finding a gun at home while his parents were out.

The poor girl named Maliyah Palmer died from a gunshot wound to the head when her older brother found a handgun in a dresser and accidentally shot the little girl in the family’s Florissant, Missouri home Friday night. 

At that time, the siblings were being babysat by their 16-year-old sister, the oldest, when the boy found a nine millimeter handgun his parent’s bedroom and accidentally discharged a round that fatally struck his sister.

No charges have been filed as of Monday afternoon, although prosecutors may still choose to pursue criminal charges, according to Florissant Police Chief Timothy Lowery.
