"Our study shows that a short body in children is a marker of a possible risk of stroke and suggests that these children should be given extra attention to changing or treating risk factors to reduce the chances of developing this disease" said University of Copenhagen Professor Jennifer Baker, quoted from Daily Mail.

Baker added, in addition to genetically, height is usually influenced by other factors such as the mother's diet during pregnancy, children's diet, psychological stress and growth period which can be considered to affect the risk of stroke. "The results of this study aim to inform the potential of initial exposure related to growth and its effect on stroke risk" she concluded.
