Supported by PAN and PKS, Governor of Riau supports Jokowi to be the next president

News24xx.com - Wednesday, February 20th 2019, people in Riau now have a new governor, Syamsuar. Together with his vice governer, Edy Natar, both were innaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Jakarta State Palace.

Syamsuar-Edy Natar won the Riau governmental election thanked to parties that supported him, PKS, PAN, and Nasdem. As is known PAN and PKS currently support the presidential candidate no. 02 Prabowo and Sandiaga Uno in the 2019 Presidential Election.

Although supported by PKS and PAN, the Governor of Riau, Syamsuar turns out support Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin in the 2019 Presidential Election.

As reported by Kompas, the statement was conveyed by Syamsuar after Jokowi sworn him as the governor of Riau. "I hope he can be the president in his second period" Syamsuar said after being sworn in by President Jokowi at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, on February 20th, 2019.

For Syamsuar, President Jokowi during his leadership contributed a lot to Riau, such as in terms of infrastructure development to agrarian reform.

"For example, as before, the toll road to Padang has not been completed. The program is a Sumatran toll road. Yesterday I got information again, there will be Riau toll road to Jambi. These jobs still need to be continued" said Riau Governor Syamsuar.

Just until now, Syamsuar has not yet decided whether he will later campaign for Jokowi-Ma'ruf in Riau or not. Considering that besides the Nasdem Party, Syamsuar won the Governor position in Riau because PKS and PAN were also promoted him, which incidentally are now supporting Prabowo-Sandi in the 2019 Presidential Election.
