News24xx.com - When getting a message, there is a part of our brain that has the role in determining whether the message is true or not, this part is called amygdala, which is the part of the brain that plays role to control anxiety, fear, and other emotions.

"Especially fear. So, fear is controlled very much by the amygdala. All information is filtered first from the amygdala because it's part of the brain, of all living things including animals have this part in their brain" said Dr. Berry Juliandi, Msi, Secretary General of the Indonesian Young Scientists Academy (ALMI), on Monday, February 18th 2019.

When someone feels that the information does not fit or interfere with his beliefs, then the information can be stopped at the part of the amygdala without having to look deeper. In other words, the brain rejects the contents of the information offered by the message.

However, if the information felt is in accordance with what he believes or the polarization that is attached to it (habits that are formed due to the guidance of the group he follows), the information will be further processed by the brain.
