News24xx.com - Soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo has just opened his hair transplant clinic in Madrid, Spain. In his words, Ronaldo claimed to want to help overcome the problem of baldness (alopecia) which according to experts is indeed susceptible to football players.

"Alopecia is a big problem in Europe and around the world and we want to help people improve their self-confidence, don't be ashamed to come to us" Ronaldo was quoted as saying on Tuesday, on March 19th 2019.

Hair transplant surgeon Dr. Edward Ball said soccer players are prone to baldness because they often used their head to head the ball. According to him this can cause repeated trauma to the head which triggers chronic inflammation and leads to baldness.

"When players head the ball, they usually do this right between their forehead and hair. I suspect repeated trauma to the hair area, because almost every day the ball hits the head, causing chronic inflammation, and at the end does not rule out the possibility of baldness" said Dr. Edward quoted from The Sun, on Tuesday, March 19th 2019.

The man who served as the director of The Maitland Clinic said that his theory has not been proven in the scientific study. "The relationship between heading the ball and baldness has never been proven but this can have a serious impact on the aesthetics and psychology of professional players" he concluded.
