News24xx.com - New Zealand pulled the movie Hotel Mumbai from their theaters, following a shooting tragedy at mosques in Christchurch last week. The movie, starring Dev Patel, is considered similar to an incident that killed up to around 50 people in New Zealand.

Hotel Mumbai told of the massacre by terrorists in Mumbai in 2008, the event that occurred for days killed at least 166 people including 9 terrorists whom killed by the authority. At the original event, the attack took place at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. It was a terrorist group from Pakistan who fired weapons and bombed blindly at that time.

It was similar to the events in New Zealand on Friday, March 15th 2019, where a gunman shot a mass of people who were praying at the mosque. The decision to withdraw Hotel Mumbai from the cinema was taken by distributor Icon Films. It was inseparable from the reluctance of some cinemas to play their films last weekend. Boss Icon Films, reported by Ace Showbiz, decided to withdraw it until March 28.

"After hearing about last Friday's attack, Icon Films Distribution immediately postponed all promotions for the movie Mumbai Hotel in New Zealand. After consulting with local cinema partners, we decided to stop the film's release as a tribute to the grieving country" said an official statement Films Icon Distribution.
