Mount Agung erupted again, spat out the volcanic ash as high as 2 kilometer

News24xx.com - Mountain Agung in Karangasem Regency, Bali, erupted again. The Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG) noted that the eruption of Mount Agung made rain of volcanic ash as high as 2,000 meters or 5,142 meters above sea level at 03.21 WITA, on Sunday, April 21st 2019.

The volcanic ash was observed to be gray with thick intensity leaning towards the southwest. The Mount Agung observation post PVMBG records on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 25 mm and a duration of about 2 minutes 55 seconds.

"There were no fatalities. There were no refugees. Community activities still normal. Car free day activities at the Klungkung Field and around the intersection of the Agung were still normal. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) had distributed thousands of masks to the community" said the Head of Public Information and Data Center National Disaster Management Agency Sutopo Purwo Nugroho.

Until now, Ngurah Rai International Airport has been monitored and still operating normally. All flights operate normally and are not affected by the eruption of Mount Agung. The status of Mount Agung remains Alert (level III). Communities, climbers and tourists are prohibited from activities within a radius of 4 Km from the top of the crater.
