News24xx.com - New research in the journal Cancer Prevention Research says that vegetable oils can turn out to be toxic if heated many times because they have carcinogenic contents. Even by consuming vegetable oils that are reheated can trigger the growth of cancer cells in animals.

Many food sellers use used oil for frying their foods. Therefore, there are findings in a March 2019 in the Research Cancer Prevention Research, entitled, "Thermally Abused Frying Oil Potentiates Metastasis to Lung in a Murine Model of Late-Stage Breast Cancer."

The author conducted an experiment on mice by giving a group of mice a low-fat diet for one week. After a week, the author fed several mice namely soybean which fried with fresh oil while other mice got soybean which fried by used oil.

The authors specifically found that ‘repeated consumption food fried by used soybean oil produced a dangerous increase such as the formation of metastatic lung tumors compared to those consuming foods fried in fresh soybean oil. "They specifically look at metastatic breast cancer, then they can inject breast cancer cells in each mouse in their sample and then can see how the reheated oil can affect the growth of the cancer cells.

It turns out that by re-frying the vegetable oil, it can release a large amount of accumulated toxins called acrolein. This substance is associated with neurological disorders and heart disease.
