"You can drink 1 to 2 glasses when you wake up to prevent dehydration" she concluded. When you are dehydrated, your digestion is actually suffering. That's the importance of drinking a glass of water before breakfast because it can be related to intestinal health.

Our digestive system itself really needs water so that food can be digested properly. "Adequate water intake is very important for the intestines to function optimally" Fisher said.

In fact, water is one of the tools your body uses to move food through the digestive tract. If you drink water before or at breakfast, your body can digest food in the morning more easily.

Fisher also noted that a body that remains hydrated can help in reading signals of hunger and satiety. "Research has shown that drinking water before breakfast can reduce the amount of food that we consume" Fisher explained.
