News24xx.com - Regent of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil), HM Wardan and Kadiskes Inhil, Zainal Arifin, visited Corneyus, a 17-month-old toddler suffering from malnutrition at Puri Husada Tembilahan District Hospital, on August 18, 2019.

During the visit, the Regent and Head of Health Office wanted to ensure that the Inhil Regency Government through Diskes and RSUD had facilitated and prepared various things needed by the family, both administration and other needs.

Inhil Regent, HM Wardan said, this was a follow-up as well as the government's attention to citizens who were in need.

Inhil Regent who was also accompanied by the chairman of PMI Inhil, Zulaikah provided financial assistance to the family received by Corneyus's mother.

Meanwhile, Kadiskes Inhil, Zainal Arifin said, related to the lack of ownership of the patient's identity, the Inhil Health Office had coordinated with Disdukcapil Inhil so that the patient could immediately be registered as a participant in BPJS JKN Kis.

"We will continue to monitor the growth and development of these patients even after treatment at the Puri Husada Regional Hospital through medical staff at the local Puskesmas," he added.

Zainal also hopes that community participation will continue to actively bring their children to the Posyandu so that cases of malnutrition can be prevented as early as possible.

To note, Corneyus baby patients were found during the first contact with the local health center staff in April 2019 and when screening the nutritional status of infants to the Kilometer 09 region, where patients were found weighing only 5.5 kilograms while their legs and hands were stiff.

According to the patient's mother, Corneyus had 3.2 kilograms at birth, when he was 10 days old his body was yellow, had a high fever and convulsions.

At that time, it was suggested that clinic staff go to the local Puskesmas for further examination and be given treatment by a doctor, counseling and PMT Toddler.

At that time, the doctor suggested that Corneyus should be referred to the hospital for further examination by a pediatrician.

But patients and families do not go because they do not have health insurance and do not have costs for fees and food costs.
