7 Shophouse in Sungai Apit Siak Scorch Market Was Burned

News24xx.com - A total of 7 shop houses and kiosks sold out engulfed in flames in a fire that occurred in RT 001 / RW 001 Sungai Apit Village, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency, Riau, Saturday, August 24, 2019.

The fire broke out at around 09.15 WIB this morning, which started from one of the houses made of wood in the Sungai Apit Market.

Paur Public Relations Siak Police, Bripka Dedek Prayoga explained, a fire extinguisher unit (Damkar) was deployed to extinguish the fire. Damkar officers also succeeded in preventing the fire that blazed into the shop or other stalls.

"At around 10.45 West Indonesia Time. 7 houses were burned, consisting of 2 shop houses which were partially burned and 5 shop houses made of wood," said Bripka Dedek.

He said, the cause of the great fire had not been proven yet. However, admittedly as a witness, the first time it was seen was only black smoke rising from one shop.

"For the cause of the fire, it cannot yet be ascertained, from witness testimony the incident began with the emergence of thick black smoke from one shop. There were no fatalities in the incident, and material losses reached hundreds of millions of rupiah," he concluded.
