Friday September 13, 2019, the City Government (Pemko) Pekanbaru had carried out the Istisqa prayer. After praying istisqa Mayor of Pekanbaru, Firdaus hopes that Allah SWT will pour down the rain today.

"We, together with the legislative Agency and the community, are offering Istisqa prayers. Hopefully today it will rain so that air quality can return to health," Pekanbaru Mayor Firdaus said after the Istisqa prayer.

Indeed, weather conditions and air quality in the past week have always shown increasing numbers. Air quality is getting worse for health. "So from four days ago, we have closed schools. And we also made health centers as posts for those who affected by ISPA," he said.

Based on the Air Pollution Standards Index (ISPU), the smoke density is still below 200. Actually, the air quality that is not good for health is above 200.

Poor air quality is currently vulnerable to pregnant women and children. Therefore, children are excluded from school activities.

The Mayor of Pekanbaru, Firdaus also advised that all civil servants or the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) wear masks if outdoor activities. If you experience ISPA or have a history of asthma, Firdaus recommends that civil servants or ASNs work indoors.
