This is necessary so that the handling of the forest and land fires that are the cause of the severe haze are completed by the central government.

This was confirmed by the Chairman of IDI Riau, Dr. Zul Asdiz after holding a meeting entitled 'Medical Review of Danger of Exposure to Smoke to Health' last weekend. "We will recommend in writing to the executive that the haze is determined as a national disaster. So that all elements can go down as soon as possible. And we have the support of several members of the Riau DPRD," he explained.

Dr. Zul Asdiz conveyed his side's consideration was to look at the Riau Air Pollution Standards Index (ISPU) figures that had entered into the unhealthy category. "We see it from the health side, this needs to be addressed as soon as possible, more severe than emergency," said the doctor of Awal Bros hospital.

In addition, Dr. Zul Asdi, who also represented the voice of other doctors, asked the government to firmly handle the problem of forest and land fires, especially if it relates to companies. "We demand that the government immediately take concrete action so that the fire dies, because there have been smoke for several days with a high enough ISPU," hopes Dr. Zul Asdi.
