The Buluh Cina Village, Siak Hulu 2 Subdistrict, Kampar District, Riau, preserves natural tourism in the region. Since the arrival of a pair of elephants from the Great Center for Conservation and Natural Resources (BBKSDA) Riau in 2017, this nature tourism area is even more lively.

Rudi, a local tour guide, told of how Buluh China Village was originally made into a nature tourism area on Saturday (11/30/2019). Initially, the Riau Provincial Government wanted to manage the area with these seven lakes with the community in 2016. After being designated as a nature tourism area, the Buluh China Village presented a pair of elephants from BBKSDA in 2017.

"Initially, the elephant was only for patrolling forestry officers. Finally, the pair of elephants become part of the natural tourism area of ??the Village of Buluh China," he explained.

For visitors who are riding an elephant, the saddle has been prepared. One person only needs to pay Rp. 20,000 to get around in the forest in a short distance.

These two elephants are named Robin and Ngatini. At present, Ngatini is pregnant with her child. Elephant pregnancy period for 20 months.

"The only elephant that can be boarded is Robin," Rudi explained.

Not just carrying passengers, an elephant named Robin who has tusks can also act. Robin has been trained to sit like a human.

"This pair of elephants have also been trained to spray water from their trunks when they will be photographed by tourists," said Rudi.

For tourists who want to go deeper into the forest, there are things that need attention. In the wild there are also other realms.

"Therefore, we recommend bringing a local guide so as not to get lost in the forest," said Rudi.
