Riau Parliament Budget Agency (Banggar) Member Robin Hutagalung said that for the shortage of the Riau athlete pound budget of Rp23 billion the council will fight for it in the 2020 APBD Amendment.

This was said by Robin because there was already an agreement between the Parliament and the Riau provincial government in the 2020 APBD which will be discussed in June next year.

According to him, the funds available in the 2020 APBD are currently at 20 billion, which is said to be a problem for Koni, because not all athletes can depart.

"Indeed, there is rationalization in KUA-PPAS with only 20 billion left, because previously the Department of Youth and Sports had submitted 69 billion, but when the discussion in the Banggar and TAPD is requested now to reduce it to 43 billion but lastly only 20 billion left," he said

According to him, the 43 billion funds have been very minimal for Riau Koni for preparation and departure of Riau athletes to PON Papua, because there are some Koni programs being eliminated such as TC athletes from abroad, or bringing in coaches from abroad, but it is hoped that the achievements of Riau athletes will not be disrupted. .

"We are optimistic that another 23 billion funds will be realized in the APBD Amendment, the article is that Governor Syamsuar has also agreed that the remaining funds for PON athletes will be submitted at apbdp 2020 so that there is already a commitment with the Riau council and provincial government to allocate the funds next year," he said.
