Director General of Science and Technology Institution of Ministry of Education and Culture Verifies the Management of AMIK Selat Panjang
The Directorate General of Institutional Science, Technology, and Higher Education (Director General of Science & Technology Institutions) of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) has verified the request to transfer the management of AMIK Selat Panjang from the Bangun Insani Bengkalis Foundation (YBI) to the Bangun Meranti Education Foundation (YPBM).
The activity that was carried out on Wednesday (12/04/2019) at Century Park Hotel Jakarta presented representatives from YBI represented by secretary Ramli Selamat while from YPBM was represented by the chairman of the foundation H Falzan Surahman and treasurer Bastian Darwis. The event was led by the Head of the Institutional Structuring of Higher Education, Sylvia Supartiningsih representing the Director of Higher Education Institutional Development.
Besides that, the Meranti Islands Regent Irwan and Parliament member Pauzi SE and AMIK Selatpanjang Director Zulfikri M.Kom were also present.
Falzan Surahman said that the process of transferring the management of AMIK Selatpanjang has been going on for a long time. This also illustrates his concern about the campus which had been established since 16 years ago. Because if this is not considered by the local government, then AMIK will be taken by the Bengkalis Regency Government.
The Chairperson of the Riau KPID also hopes that the transfer of management permit will soon be obtained to prepare superior human resources to welcome the digitalization process.
"After the management transfer process is completed, we will immediately improve to change its form to a High School," Falzan said.

On this occasion, Director of AMIK Selatpanjang Zulfikri M. Kom said that the process of transfer of management that had been recommended by the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region X of West Sumatra, Riau and the Riau Islands on 31 October 2019 and had fulfilled the terms and conditions in accordance with applicable regulations.
Meanwhile, the Meranti Islands Regent, Irwan, who was also present, expressed the commitment of the district government to support this process of management transfer.
Irwan said, the local government would support AMIK's management for the future, for the sake of being prepared to follow competencies in the future, so that AMIK can become one of the best campuses in Riau Province.
"When management has changed hands, of course there has been a change in management and there has been a significant increase. This step is expected to be a new hope. And for the Regency Government of Meranti inevitably have to intervene to help and build a more representative campus and labor," said Irwan.
In 2021, the Meranti Islands Regency Government will provide land in Gogok Village for the construction of the AMIK Campus, so students are expected to be more competitive. (rls)
