Adding the height of the Koto Panjang hydropower, 4 Villages in Kampar District Submerged by Flood

News24xx.com - After adding the height of the Koto Panjang hydropower door to 80 centimeters, the surface of the Kampar river has increased.

As a result, a number of areas in the upper reaches of the river were also flooded, including Fold of South Cloth, Paman Bay, Gunung Sahilan and Sahilan Darussalam.

Kampar BPBD head Adi Chandra Lukita said the four villages were flooded by around 50 centimeters.

"Our team has taken to the field to collect data and help evacuate the community," Adi said, Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

Adi revealed, due to this flood, access in two villages was interrupted due to flooding. "One of them is in the village of Teluk Paman," he said.

As you know, the Koto Panjang hydropower plant increased the height of the open spillway gate in two stages, on Tuesday 10 December 2019 morning.

The first phase began at 10:00 WIB plus two doors were opened with a height of 60 centimeters, and three doors that had previously been opened 30 centimeters were added to 60 centimeters.

Meanwhile, the second phase will be carried out at 3:00 pm West Indonesia Time, and there will be an increase in the height of the opening of 5 spillway gates which were previously 60 centimeters to 80 centimeters.

With the additional height of the 30 centimeter spillway gate open, the surface water level of the Kampar river will also increase again around 30 centimeters to 50 centimeters from the previous.
