The Oldest Temple in Sumatra with Bricks and Sand Material Named Muara Takus

News24xx.com - History records that the Muara Takus Temple, located on the banks of the Kampar Kanan river with an area of ??97.7 hectares, Kampar Regency is the oldest temple in Sumatra made of brick and sand.

He found the Old Temple, the Bungsu Temple, Mahligai Temple, Palangka Temple, and the restored Building III and two other buildings to the north of Palangka Temple in the form of a mound of earth.

The excavation was then continued by Schnitger on the foundation gate of the north wall, the foundations of buildings I and II and the Old Temple.

At the Youngest Temple he found a lotus-shaped brick in which there was ash and gold plates.

On the gold plate is a trident trellis and Nagari letters.

The excavation was resumed by Ben Bronson in 1973 in collaboration with the Jakarta Archaeological and Antiquities Agency.
