Beat a Taxi Driver in Bali, a German Soldier Becomes a Suspect of Persecution

News24xx.com - Police confirmed that German citizen Adil Chaaboute (33) as a suspect in a case of mistreatment of a travel driver. The suspect is known to work as a soldier in his country.

Kuta police chief, Commissioner Teuku Ricki Fadlianshah said that the suspect is known to have carried out the persecution of a travel driver named I Gede Dharma Jaya on Tuesday (14 January 2020) at 2:00 pm in the Seminyak area, Kuta.

When the incident occurred, the car that's driven by the victim, I Gede Dharma Jaya just came out of Jalan Sari Dewi and was about to turn onto Jalan Sarinande Seminyak.

At the same time, from the west came the suspect riding a motorcycle until the second vehicle struck.

Next, the victim asked the suspect, "Didn't you see the head of my car had entered? And you keep speeding."

The question turned out to provoke the suspect's emotions, and finally, the suspect got angry and pushed the victim.

Received such treatment, the victim approaches the suspect, until the suspect throws a punch at the victim's head.

The victim then reported the persecution to the North Kuta Sector Police. Based on the report, the police immediately arrested the suspect. The arrest was also based on photographs and license plate numbers of the suspects' vehicles that were successfully obtained.

"When questioned, the suspect admitted that he only pushed the victim after the accident between his motorcycle and the victim's car, and did not feel beaten," he explained.

The suspect is currently detained and threatened with being charged under Article 351 of the Criminal Code regarding persecution.
