News24xx.com - Prema, a woman from India struggling alone to support her children after her husband chose to commit suicide. She smoothed her head to get money.

"My seven-year-old son Kaliyappan just arrived from school and asked for food. He then cried from hunger," Prema Selvam said.

The 31-year-old mother who resides in Salem District, Tamil Nadu State, India, has nothing to feed her son. She felt hopeless.

In fact, that day, Friday 3 January, she didn't cook because she ran out of food ingredients.

After a series of tragic events, Prema came to the point of his difficulties.

Prema has no valuables, jewelry, or even kitchen equipment that can be exchanged for money.

"I don't even have 10 rupees. I only have a few plastic buckets."

She then realized that she had something to sell.

That's her hair, she smoothed her head in a temple. She donated her hair as a form of prayer for the gods to give her grandchildren.

"I remember a shop that used to buy hair. I went there and sold all the hair on my head for 150 rupees," Prema said.

Human hair is traded throughout the world and India is a major exporter.

Some Hindus in India often turn their hair over in temples as a sign of gratitude for their prayers being answered.

The hair sold is then used as an extension of someone else's hair.

Various ways the Indian government to help poor shirts often fail because they do not reach poor people like Prema.

The money Prema received from selling her hair was enough to buy lunch at a middle-class restaurant in a big city. However, in his village, she can buy many things.

Indeed for a moment, Prema and her three children can eat. But another danger threatened Prema, Prema knew she had lost the last option and began to worry about how to provide the next meal.
