Dumai City Legislative Convey the Aspirations of Central Government Injustice?

JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives Commission V from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction, Syahrul Aidi Maazat, said that there is an unfair treatment felt by the Riau people by the central government.

According to Syahrul, as conveyed by representatives of the Legislative Member of Dumai City, Riau, the people of Riau complained about the unfair distribution of infrastructure development and revenue sharing funds between the regions and the center.

Yesterday, "I represent the House of Representatives Commission V,  received a group from Commission IV Legislative Riau Province in charge of infrastructure. In essence, many of the aspirations and complaints that were conveyed to us," said Syahrul, told reporters on Saturday (1/25/2020).

Syahrul said, when viewed from the foreign exchange donations provided by Riau to the Center and those given by the Center to the regions, it was very, very unbalanced.

"Many examples, the destruction of the National Road in Riau which until now has also not been resolved. That's one of them," he said.

He also said that he will discuss these aspirations at the official meeting of Commission V and will submit them to the relevant ministries.

Meanwhile, a representative of the Riau Legislative Member explained, his party demanded that the Central Government, under the leadership of Jokowi-Ma'ruf, not annihilate the oil-rich province.

"Through Oil and Gas, it is almost 30 percent of foreign exchange from Riau for the State Budget. We demand that Riau not be a stepchild. The budget for Infrastructure that we receive is not balanced. We sometimes feel jealous of other Provinces that get a larger portion, even though they don't contribute much to the center, "he concluded. (R24 / Bhishma)
