News24xx.com - The waters of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil), Riau are waters that are often crossed by foreign ships from neighboring countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand.

Considering that currently there is an epidemic of coronavirus, the Tembilahan Class III Port Health Office continues to be on alert for these vessels.

As conveyed by the Head of the Cross-Regional KLW-Health Environmental Risk Management Section of Tembilahan Class III Port Health Office, M Hidayat Syah that for ships entering directly from abroad usually dock at Kuala Enok Port, Rengat Port and Sungai Guntung Port.

"They have been equipped with a tool called the thermometer scanner. The ports are visited by ships from Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand," he explained.

He said the four countries had confirmed that they had been detected by the coronavirus, so for ships coming from the four countries, he said there would be a strict inspection of the crew.

"Initially we carried out a body temperature check and if indicated above 38 degrees Celsius then we will carry out further checks. The ship may not carry out loading and unloading activities and must be anchored in the airport pool determined by KSOP", he explained again.
