Religion of the Greatest Enemy of Pancasila, Hidayat Nur Wahid: Radical Statement

News24xx.com - Politician from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Hidayat Nur Wahid regretted the attitude of the Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Board (BPIP) Prof. Yudian Wahyudi after mentioning that Pancasila was an enemy of religion.

This statement was conveyed by Hidayat after reading an article from detik.com with the head of BPIP Calling Religion Becoming the Greatest Enemy of Pancasila. This form of frustration was conveyed through his social media account Twitter @hnurwahid, Wednesday, February 12, 2020.

"The radical statement of the Chairman of BPIP is ahistoric & irrational," he said.

He delivered the chanting because he knew that the founding father of the Sukarno people and the second President of Indonesia, Soeharto, had never once made Religion as the greatest enemy of Pancasila.

"President Sukarno & Suharto did not make Religion as an enemy of Pancasila. Bung Karno glorified Religion in relations with Pancasila (when at BPUPK, Panitya 9 or PPKI). BPIP was not formed to make noise like this," he explained.

Previously, one of the founders of the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) Fadli Zon also highlighted Yudian's statement through his Twitter social media account.

Even Fadli said that the Chancellor of the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga, Jogjakarta was historically illiterate and did not understand Pancasila.

"The head of BPIP has a history of not understanding Pancasila. He has clashed religion as the greatest enemy of Pancasila," he explained.
