News24xx.com - The tragedy of the Sempor River, last Friday (21 February 2020), kept a number of stories.

Including the rescue of students who were washed away carried out by several people.

The name of Mbah Diro, 71-year-old grandfather; and Sudarwanto alias Kodir (37) the angler, sticking out to the public.

Mbah Diro and Kodir saved dozens of students, even at the cost of their own lives.

The old age does not make Mbah Diro's guts recoil at the swift flow of the Sempor River.

The cry for help from students of SMPN 1 Turi made up her mind to dive into the Sempor River when she was cleaning the tomb.

"I have warned to go up because the weather is not favorable. Then I have heard the children asking for help. My child immediately approached, he said children are twisted (washed away)," said the 71-year-old grandfather, as quoted by the Jogja Tribune.

Mbah Diro was thin and reached the children who were washed away.

Some children who were weak because of fatigue withstand the swift currents and then carried. "I had drifted away, the child was still on my back. I was able to grip, but because the stone was slippery, it slipped, my legs were hit and injured," he said.

At that time, Mbah Diro knew that danger could threaten his old age. Because the current of the Sempor River was indeed extraordinary.

However, one thing he kept thinking about was saving as many students as possible.
