News24xx.com -  Myanmar's efforts to protect its national security are supported by China and against of violent attacks in Rakhine state.

Similarly, Foreign Minister, Wang Yi told the Secretary General Antonio Guterres as quoted from sindonews.com, on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

Wang told Guterres at a meeting at the United Nations that China understood and supported Myanmar's efforts to protect security in Rakhine and hoped the war could be extinguished immediately.

Wang expressed of China's sympathy with those who had fled to Bangladesh and would send humanitarian aid to Bangladesh.

"China encourages Myanmar and Bangladesh to resolve the issue through dialogue and consultation," the Foreign Ministry quoted Wang as saying.

"China is willing to continue promoting peace talks in its own way, and hopes the international community can play a constructive role to defuse the situation and promote dialogue," he said.

China and Myanmar have close economic and diplomatic ties. China has opposed hopes that democratization in the former Burma could lead to a weaker link between the two countries.

Around one million Rohingyas live in the State of Rakhine until recent violence. Most face severe travel restrictions and are denied citizenship in a country where many Buddhists regard them as illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.
