Minister of Cooperative make a program about cooperative for millennial generation

Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, AAGN Puspayoga asserted, that immediately conducted a program of re-Branding Cooperative for millenial generation of age 17-35 years old.

Quoted from gatra.com, Puspayoga revealed, based on the results of a survey, cooperatives are less popular among the millennial generation.

"We hope that they understand and know about the rules of the cooperative, after which we will encourage them to cooperate," Puspayoga said during a meeting of Committee IV of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) with the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs discussing the supervision over the implementation of Law Number 25 of 1992 on Cooperatives, in Jakarta, Monday, September 18, 2017.

 

Puspayoga wants all cooperatives in Indonesia to be included in the healthy category by 2019.

Currently, from 152 thousand cooperatives are recorded, half of them in less healthy condition, and half of them in healthy condition.

In addition, as many as 40 thousand more cooperatives have been dissolved due to inactivity, just a nameplate.

 

"If the cooperatives are not healthy, we will disband it, because in accordance with the direction of Total Cooperative Reform, we are not oriented to the number of cooperatives, but on the quality of cooperatives," said Puspayoga.
