PEKANBARU - Pekanbaru City Government is preparing a curfew plan to anticipate the spread of corona virus disease 2019 (covid-19) or corona virus that is so fast. Permit to limit community activities will be submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) through Riau Governor Syamsuar.

Pekanbaru Mayor Firdaus, on Sunday (5/4/2020), said, the development of the spread of the corona virus was so fast. Conversely, public activity and awareness about the dangers of corona virus outbreaks was very low.

"So, we will carry out fast action activities so that the public understands this condition. We are preparing to impose restrictions on the hours of activity of the people of Pekanbaru," he said.

The basis is Government Regulation No. 21 of 2020 concerning Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). Pekanbaru City Government has studied in depth and thoroughly this plan with the Regional Leaders Communication Forum (Forkopimda) and the Covid-19 task force team.

"The application of the curfew will be done if we will get approval from the central government as regulated by PP 21/2020. We will submit requests and permits to the President of Indonesia through representatives of the central government in the region, namely the Governor of Riau," Firdaus said.

If the plan is permitted, the ulama, umarah and people will be involved. For security, Pekanbaru City Government will activate all infrastructure, namely the environmental security system (siskamling). This siskamling will be associated with the corona outbreak.

"So, all subdistricts and lurahs, under the guidance of the Indnesian Army and Police, immediately activate the environment security sistem (siskamling). The leaders of the siskamling team will be given an understanding and training on Covid-19 health protocol," Firdaus explained. (R24 / put)
