China Farmer Carries His Mother 5km to Get Treatment in Nearest Clinic

News24xx.com -  A farmer in Yunnan Province, China, melts millions of people with his story. For years, he had carried his mother for nearly 5km to seek treatment at a nearby clinic.

The farmer named Wang Kewu was holding his 89-year-old mother to a clinic like a mother holding her baby. He does it once a month because his mother has hypertension and chronic gastritis. "She took care of me when I was a kid, now my job is to take care of her," the 54-year-old said in an interview, quoted by Dailymail.

Mr. Wang lives in Wenzhou, a countryside in Yunnan Province. Before 2010, there was a doctor who regularly visited his village. But in the last 7 years, no more doctors are visiting because the two closest clinics are one and the shortage of health workers.

According to Wang, he once took his mother on a motorcycle. But each time, her mother fell because she was not strong enough to hold on. The safest way, according to him, is to hold her.

"Our parents raise us when we're young, we have to take care of them when they're old," said Wang sagely.*
