Development of Induk Market in Pekanbaru is constrained in the process of development permit

News24xx.com -  Realization of Induk Market in Pekanbaru is threatened to withdraw from the schedule that already set. Because the development of the Induk Market which worth investing IDR 94 billion is constrained in the process of development permit.

Head of Market Department of Trade and Industry (DPP) Pekanbaru, Tengku Firdaus said, "Development permit was delayed. So it was too late to start the construction of Induk Market, " he said, on Thursday, November 23, 2017.

Firdaus explained if the developer has made foundation.

"We remain in accordance with the contract of development of Induk Market that will completed within 24 months or 2 years," he said.

The development of Induk Market in Pekanbaru used Bangun Guna Serah (BGS) system. That land is owned by the government which then manage by investor to 30 years. After that, Induk Market wil becomes an asset of Pekanbaru City Government.

Firdaus has also conveyed to the developer to immediately complete their work. The existence of Induk Market is very important for Pekanbaru as the capital of Riau Province.

"Because the issue of nine basic commodities (sembako) is very sensitive in Pekanbaru. With the Induk Market so we can know the needs of basic foods and prevent the existence of price speculation, "he explained.

Firdaus mentioned the results of the joint meeting, the investors was optimistic to complete the development of Pasar Induk Pekanbaru after October 2018.

Meanwhile, if completed, the temporary holding market in Terminal Bandar Raya Payung Sekaki (BRPS) will closed.

"If the main market of Pekanbaru which is on Soekarno Hatta stree is completed, automatic one market at BRPS Terminal will be closed. Then we will relocate traders from the terminal to the official market, " he said.
