News24xx.com -  India's film censorship board has allowed the circulation and screening of controversial Bollywood film production, Padmavati, reports said.

The film that tells about the figure of Hindu queen and a Muslim ruler in the 14th century has sparked nationwide protests by Hindu groups.

Nevertheless, India's film certification board (CBFC) told local media that it did not recommend censorship of the film.

In November, the Indian High Court rejected an appeal by a lawyer demanding a ban on the screening and circulation of the film.

The Padmavati film tells of the figure of the 14th-century Hindu queen - who is claimed to be of high caste, Rajput - and a Muslim ruler, AlauddinKhilji.

The film features two famous Bollywood stars, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who portray the two characters.

The Hindu group and Rajput caste organization accused the film was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, to portray the intimate scenes between the two figures, but this accusation was denied by the film's rejecting producer.

Although her figure is believed to be fictional, Padmavati is deified and considered a symbol of honor among women in the Rajput caste.

The controversy is spreading amidst the rise of Hindu nationalism under Prime Minister NarendraModi with his BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP).

The emergence of this film is based on a number of cases, such as the killing of a number of Muslims and members of Dalit caste for being accused of "slaughtering cows", then attempting to discredit the history of the construction of the Taj Mahal cultural preserve, until the attempt to undermine Mahatma Gandhi's credibility dreamed of uniting Hindus and Muslims.
