News24xx.com -  Israel is a country of great contrasts. It's only the size of Mizoram state, and its population is less than half the area of ??Mumbai, India. But in terms of technological achievements, Israel is above of India.

Just look at the technological breakthroughs that have come out from Israel, and you will really admire the achievements of this small Middle Eastern nation.

1) USB flash drive
The birth of classic classic flash drives is debated by three different companies, but one of the earliest flash storage media samples emerged from the Israeli company ie M-Systems in December 2000 (in collaboration with IBM at the time). The first USB flash drive uses 8MB, 16MB and 32MB storage capacity.

The personal computer world will not start if it were not for the IBM PC, which is powered by the Intel 8088 microprocessor. Sporting close to 30,000 transistors, the Intel 8088 was given an 8 MHz clock - lightning quickly in 1979 standards. It was created by the lab of Haifa Intel, forever changing the world of computing.

3) VoIP
If you remember Skype, you know how it allows for someone to call a phone in the world - through a microphone connected to the Internet.

In order for a voice to be transmitted from one computer terminal to another phone anywhere in the world requires some techno magic, which appears in the form of Voice over Internet Protocol (or VoIP), developed by an Israeli company called VocalTec. It does what Skype did before Skype appeared.

4) ICQ
Whatsapp is probably one of the most popular chat apps at the moment, but at the beginning of the internet there is only ICQ.

It's created by Israeli company Mirabilis in 1996, ICQ is the first stand-alone instant messenger, and also the first online instant messenger service - allowing you to sign up and create accounts, conduct private conversations and more. No doubt, ICQ is a blueprint of other popular instant messaging services such as AIM, Yahoo Messenger and Google Talk.

5) Viber
With 800 million users in December 2016, another Viber online chat, voice calling and video calling app developed by two former Israeli defense soldiers - Talmon Marco and Igor Magazinnik.
