News24xx.com -  Thousands of people was evacuated in an instant after a volcano in Papua New Guinea erupted again on Sunday, January 21, 2018 and sent steam and ash into the air.

People were evacuated from nearby islands off the north coast of the South Pacific because the volcano began to erupt on 5 January 2018.

Nearby flights have also been canceled because of the risks that posed by ash and ships are warned to stay away from the island.

Experts has warned at last week that seismic activity beneath the volcano meant that large eruptions could happen soon.

Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill had earlier said that state resources were available to support the evacuation and he had warned the communities in northern coastal to be wary of a possible tsunami.

Kadovar is off the northern coast of New Guinea, a large island in the capital of Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby.

Papua New Guinea is in the "Ring of Fire," a series of seismic faults that surround the Pacific that often experience earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
