News24xx.com - Marc Marquez admitted that he never count of Andrea Dovizioso as a competitor in MotoGP 2017,  which he then admitted as a big mistake.

Marquez had to wait until the last race of the series in Valencia to ensure the 2017 MotoGP world title, after a fierce competition with Dovizioso. The Repsol Honda rider was closing the season with 298 points and 37 points ahead of Dovi.

But, Marquez initially never take Dovi as a competitor in the title race for 2017. Moreover, during driving the Ducati Desmosedici since 2013, Dovi never finish the season in the top three.

He estimated that his competitors will be Maverick Vinales, Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, or Dani Pedrosa. But, this thought has been proved wrong.

In the future, Marquez will be wary of all the riders who appear in MotoGP.

"This year, when people ask me which opponent is the most dangerous, I always say Maverick, Dani, Valentino (Rossi), maybe Lorenzo, but I never say Dovi," Marquez said.

"It was a lesson for me this year, that you have to be careful with everyone and try to be wary of all the riders," he continued.

"At the start of this season (2017) it looks like Maverick is the fastest rider, but in the end the most consistent, the most complete rider for the title is Dovi, and it's fun to compete with him," said Marquez.
