A pensioner has looks like Hulk, this is the caused

News24xx.com -  The 68-year-old, or identified with the surname Tan, from Xiangyang City, in China, has been left looking like the hulk. Tan has been compared to The Hulk because of the fatty lumps on his neck and shoulders, which could be mistaken for muscles.

The change of his condition occured after drinking a litre of strong spirits every day for three decades.

He says in past, his family allowed him to start drinking of alcohol at the age of 13. At least one litre of strong rice wine, he drank like water.

Now, that pensioner turned his daily diet included his habit to drank, after fatty tumours to grow all around his upper body, especially his neck. The doctor has diagnosed Tan with Madelung’s disease, also known as symmetric lipomatosis. Symmetric lipomatosis, is very rarely cancerous, and as long as he no longer drinks, he should be able to recover.

Doctor Xiao Xuping from the Hunan Provincial People’s Hospital in Changsha say it's as the result of prolonged heavy drinking.

Doctor Xiao, the hospital’s ear, nose and throat specialist is planning surgical recession for Tan’s growths. "There are only 400-something cases of this disease worldwide some 200 of them have happened in China," Xiao said.

Tan, whose neck is thicker than the average man’s waist, said he had first noticed small fatty lumps developing on his upper body in 1997.

Between then and 2011 his neck swelled to its current state. He visited doctors about the condition but was told not to worry unless the ailment started to affect his breathing, which it did towards the end of 2017.
