Disturbance of Telkomsel network is not due to the quality but because of the earthquake

News24xx.com - Some time ago Telkomsel had an experienced network disruption, and this is a lot of users complaint especially internet access. As for other services such as voice and text still running normally.

However, Telkomsel claimed that its services such as voice, sms and internet are still running smoothly so far.

Customers complain about the disturbance of the mobile operator's internet service, from a slow pace to no connection at all. Complaints arose from early this week and more on Thursday, April 19th.

From the information collected, Telkomsel subscribers who experienced internet disruption are domiciled in various regions in Java Island to Jayapura region. In addition to claiming the network is fine, Telkomsel also mentioned external factors that may be the source of the problems experienced by users.

Previously, in a written statement, Telkomsel said internet access disturbance may be caused by problems of customers who have not registered a prepaid SIM card.

VP Corporate Communications of Telkomsel Adita Irawati in her statement said, "Since April 16th, according to the circular BRTI (Indonesian Telecommunication Regulatory Agency), Telkomsel started blocking internet data access."

Telkomsel also urged prepaid subscribers to immediately register their SIM card. Despite having blocked access, the registration process can still be done. There are several ways that can be done to do this.

Adita said that after successful user to register correctly, blocked service will return to normal automatically.

Disturbance in Papua Especially for Jayapura and surrounding areas, Telkomsel admitted that it is experiencing disturbance of internet data service that has been going on since early this month.

The reason, there is a marine cable that was broken by the earthquake in the waters of Sarmi, Papua, on April 6th 2018. "(The earthquake) The impact of Sea Cable Communication System (SKKL) Sulawesi Maluku Papua Cable System (SMPCS) owned by PT. Telkom Indonesia" said Telkomsel, a subsidiary of PT Telkom.

Telkomsel is still working to fix internet data services for customers in Papua. In the meantime, access to communications services is routed through backups by satellite transmission and IP Radio.

The voice and text service that is outside the internet data services can still be used with normal without disturbance in Papua.

Adita and all Telkomsel mentioned that they will continue to make every effort to handle the disturbance so that the service can be fully recovered, where Telkomsel's service has been gradually normalized.
