A mother who beat her two-year-old son to death has been jailed for 40 years

News24xx.com -  Because her two-year-old son wet his bed, a cruel mother beat him until death. At that time, the woman named Katrina Shangreaux, 30, hit her son Kylen with a belt, kicked him in the abdomen and head, and bit him several times.

The poor boy named Kylen Shangreaux suffered bleeding on the brain, cigarette burns to his head and horrifically mutilated genitals.

Katrina told to cops that after wetting the bed, her son calling her with ‘Angie’( the name of his aunt and former carer).

Katrina Shangreaux, from Porcupine, South Dakota, attacked the toddler in July 2016.

Shangreaux, who had drunk alcohol and taken pain medication before the attack, only stopped beating her son when she ‘saw that he appeared different and realized how badly she had injured him.

Then, she and her mother called 911 for help after Kylen fell to the floor and soiled himself. She told emergency operators that her son had choked on apple juice.

Kylen, who was dead by the time he reached the Indian Health Services Hospital on the Pine Ridge Reservation, also appeared to have a fractured skull, as well as a torn scrotum.  And doctors who tried to save the youngster discovered his body was covered in bite marks, and that 70 per cent of his skin was covered in new and old bruises. 

Katrina and her mother are said to have cleaned up his blood and faeces before the ambulance arrived.

The judge, Jeffrey L Viken said the boy could not have defended himself describing it as a horrific, depraved, tortuous, humiliating and unusually heinous crime. Now, Katrina has been jailed for 40 years.
