News24xx.com - The desire for eternal life forever may be an ordinary thing. There have been many Silicon Valley technology bosses who set aside their wealth to fund technology that can extend their life and even make them live forever, such as Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

But, there are also other alternatives that can make part of us able to live forever. Some scientists, including Google's Director of Engineering and futurist, Ray Kurzweil predict that humans will be able to upload their brain contents to the cloud after death.

Kurzweil estimates humans will be able to upload the entire contents of his brain and can live forever digitally in 2045.

One of Silicon Valley's important figures who are tempted by this offer is Sam Altman. Altman is president of the venture capital company Y Combinator and one of the founders of the OpenAI intelligence research firm (AI) with Elon Musk.

Altman enrolled himself on Nectome's waiting list to upload his brain content into the cloud so his consciousness remains alive when he die. To enter the waiting list, Altman must spend USD 10,000 (IDR 143 million). "I'm expecting my brain to be uploaded to the cloud" Altman told MIT Technology Review.

As quoted from Evening Standard, Nectome is a company founded in 2016 by two AI researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). One of the processes Nectome customers must pass to upload their brain content to the cloud involves high-tech embalming techniques that will result in death.
