The former military base in Gibraltar is turned into beautiful glass bridge

News24xx.com - There is a beautiful glass bridge that is located in a remote area and is hard to get to. The location is O’Hara’s Battery, Gibraltar. From the bridge, you can see the beautiful view of Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean.

Before, this bridge, which is called Skywalk, was a military base used to keep watch on the enemy’s airships during World War 2. However, the base was redesigned by Arc Design and was turned into a unique tourist attraction.

Before, to get access to Skywalk, you had to go through a steep road which was rocky and slippery. Now, the place is equipped with escalator so it is easier for people to get up there. The rocky road is turned into footpath. The concrete used for military building is turned into seats for visitors who come to enjoy the view.

The building is intentionally made transparent so the visitors can enjoy the view maximally. It includes stairs and floors made of glass.
