All the basic foods price in Pekanbaru still expensive

News24xx.com - Wednesday, August 8th 2018, the price of a number of basic foods in the city of Pekanbaru is still expensive. Even now onions are also expensive and not going down and down since last week.

Pekanbaru's Department of Industry and Trade (DPP) noted that the onion price is IDR 26,000 per kg. Whereas red chili is IDR 33 thousand per kg and chicken meat IDR 30 thousand per kg.

While other commodities are still stable, such as garlic IDR 20 thousand per kg,

 chicken eggs IDR 1,600 per item, beef IDR 120 thousand per kg, and tuna IDR 45,000 per kg.

Head of the Pekanbaru DPP, Ingot Ahmad Hutasuhut through the Head of Trade, Juarman said the price increase was due to limited stocks on the market. "Market law applies, stock is limited and demand does not decreased. It causes prices to rise" he said.

The limited stock, Juarman said is more due to weather factors. "So Pekanbaru is very dependent on West Sumatra and North Sumatra for the supply of basic necessities. So if there are only a few obstacles, it will certainly affect prices in the market" he said.

Juarman requested that the public does need not worry. Because if the supply goes back smoothly, the prices of basic needs will automatically go down.
