Nearly 500 Chinese Citizens Have Falled Sick Because of Bacterial Contaminated Water

Hundreds of Chinese citizens got sick from the water tainted with bacteria.

Local state media reported that nearly 500 people in Baoyi, China had fever and diarrhea since last weekend.

Quoted from AFP, there were reportedly 300 residents being treated at the local hospital.

Most of the patients are elderly and children.

According to reports, the bacteria are shigella bacteria.

The bacteria contaminated a clean water treatment center in Baoyi, China.

If the bacteria are accidentally consumed, there is a risk of causing dysentery.

Hundreds of sick Chinese citizens have temporarily closed the Baoyi water treatment center in China.

This small town has been relying on the supply of clean water there.

Unlike the big cities in China that use bottled water or boil their own water.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Water Resources of China claimed to have fixed the supply of clean water for 256 million people in rural areas at the end of last July.
