Tragic, after bite a centipede, a former Muay Thai champion died Wednesday in Kalasin province after he suffered complications from that bite.
Dokmaipa Por Pongsawang, 52, known for throwing aggressive left punches and kicks, died at Kalasin Hospital.
He suffered of severe blood infection after he was bitten by a giant Thai centipede,
According to hospital director Pramuan Thaingamsilp, Dokmaipa had diabetes, causing more complications and contributing to his death.
Dokmaipa’s daughter Jiraporn Moonkaset told that her father was bitten on his left leg. But he didn’t seek medical treatment for the wound until he fell seriously ill, with chills and dizziness progressing into a full coma.
As information, Dokmaipa became a Muay Thai boxer when he was 9. Born with name Jamnien Moonkaset in Roi Et province, the rare left-sided fighter with particularly strong left punches and kicks won six matches at the Lumpini and Ratchadamnoen boxing stadiums.
He also earning the nickname Powerful Southpaw and retired from fighting in 1996 and became a coach then bodyguard in Macau.
From the information of his daughter, his funeral will be held in his hometown, Roi Et’s Saelapoom district.
