A man with the initials AW (26) was arrested by Subdit IV officers from the PPA Ditreskrimum Polda Jambi for being involved in a child molestation case.
The perpetrator who works as a security guard at the gas station was arrested on Sunday, January 10 at his residence, Kasang Kumpeh Village, Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province.
“Before committing sexual abuse against the victim, the perpetrator first invited the victim to walk with the lure of giving the victim a birthday present,” said Director of Criminal Investigation of the Jambi Police, Kombes Kaswandi Irwan in Jambi, Tuesday, January 12.
It was on this journey with the victim that the perpetrator began to act. The 6 year old boy was pushed into a bush and held his mouth shut. The victim then complained to her parents that she had been molested by AW.
The boy parents, continued Kaswandi Irwan, then reported the case to the Jambi Regional Police.
Subdit IV PPA Team of Ditreskrimum Polda Jambi immediately moved quickly to chase the perpetrators in less than 24 hours.
“We immediately searched and found out the whereabouts of the perpetrators, so as soon as possible we arrested him at his residence,” he explained.
A number of evidences were also secured, such as the clothes of the perpetrators when carrying out the action and the clothes of the victims and the birth certificates of the victims. In addition, his party has also conducted crime scene events.
Kaswandi added that for his behavior the perpetrator was charged under Article 81 junto article 82 junto Article 76E Law 35/2014 concerning sexual intercourse and / or child molestation with a maximum imprisonment of 15 years.
