The Regent of Indragiri Hilir (Inhil) Regency, HM Wardan, conducted a juhur Ramadhan safari in the Enok sub-district which began with the distribution of the Ramadan premium package assistance from the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) Indragiri Hilir on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.
In this activity, a number of echelon officials in the Indragiri Hilir Regency Government were also present.
The Regent’s arrival was greeted directly by the Camat Enok, the Lurah and the Village Head and their staff.
For this year’s Ramadhan Safari activity takes place slightly differently from previous years, where the Ramadan safari is usually held at the same time as iftar, now it must be carried out after the Zuhur prayer due to the prohibition on breaking the fast.
Various hopes were conveyed by the Regent of Indragiri Hilir, HM Wardan at the event, one of which was regarding the condition of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indragiri Hilir Regency which is currently experiencing a spike so that the Regency must have the status of an orange zone for the spread of Covid-19.
The Regent expressed his concern about the Covid-19 condition in Indragiri Hilir Regency.
He revealed, the possibility of eliminating the Eid prayer in congregation in the mosque and the field this year.
“If our status is still the orange zone during Eid al-Fitr, then we are prohibited from offering Eid prayers in congregation in mosques and fields. The prayers will be done at home,” said the Regent when delivering his remarks in front of the Mustahik and other Enok residents.
So that this possibility does not happen, the Regent appealed to Mustahik and Enok residents to comply with health protocols, such as wearing masks, maintaining distance and washing hands with soap in running water.
“Hopefully towards the end of Ramadan there will be a decline so that we can carry out Eid prayers in congregation in mosques and fields,” said the Regent.
In addition to the Covid-19 issue, the Regent also touched on development issues in the Enok District area.
He hopes that the development planning there can be carried out according to the target even with budget constraints
“The budget ceiling for financing development this year cannot be maximized because we also have to finance the handling of Covid-19 in Indragiri Hilir Regency. So, I hope the people of Enok can remain optimistic and be patient ahead of normal conditions,” explained the Regent.
With regard to zakat, the Regent asked all Regional Apparatus Organizations at all levels of government to deduct their income from zakat.
“That way, we can help our brothers and sisters who may currently be underprivileged, are in a difficult condition, especially during this pandemic,” concluded the Regent.
