It is said that this typical Belitung cuisine is an adaptation of the spaghetti made by people in this tin-producing country. At first glance at the shape, Lakseis very similar to Putu Mayang.
Initially, Lakse was a typical food of the Belitung Malay people who liked to make food with coconut milk. Even this form of food is not what it is today. The shape of Lakse used to be like noodles.
Then, Lakse was also developed by the Chinese people living in Belitung to have its current shape without reducing its original characteristics, spices, and taste.
Lakse made from rice flour, coconut milk, and sago. Just like berego, this culinary treat is also enjoyed with a sauce made from mackerel fish.
